Role Description



Reporting directly into the Warehouse & Logistics Manager, the ideal candidate would be a highly motivated person who has run similar, complex, fast moving operations. Responsible for the management of the Grange Moor warehouse, the staffing and stock levels, whilst ensuring the delivery of company directives, initiatives and attainment of KPI targets set. They must also be excellent role models in the areas of communication and problem solving

Essential Duties



Effective team leadership and management, controlling team attendance and discipline following company-wide policies Ensure a safe, secure, clean and fair work environment for team members, advising the Warehouse & Logistics Manager of issues that may affect quality or safety within the warehouse Monitor and take ownership of all stock in the Warehouse Monitor daily warehouse transactions, audit the warehouse handling/storage systems and provide weekly summary of current status Maximise accuracy and space utilization of stock levels, through control and maintenance methods, investigating supply chain non-conformances and their root causes You will liaise with Quality, Production and Supply Chain teams to ensure condition, age and quality of stock is maintained. Ensure daily / weekly workload planning and volume forecasting routines are accomplished Responsible for issues relating to customer delivery requirements (i.e. obtaining quotations and arranging domestic and international shipping and ensuring documentation requirements are met) Responsible for the management of recycling collections HR Management of team by employee appraisal (ongoing via regular One to One meetings, plus annual appraisals), set effective goals and discuss performance parameters Continuous improvement Maintains physical condition of warehouse by planning and implementing new design layouts; inspecting equipment; issuing work orders for repair and requisitions for replacement. Completes warehouse operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees; following up on work results. Maintains warehouse staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees. Maintains warehouse staff job results by coaching and guiding staff, conducting disciplinary meetings where required. Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed. Understanding as to how their performance within their role contributes to the overall success of the business To liaise with distribution and logistics teams ref production & departure dates Coordination of stock movement, both internal and external ensuring good stock control processes are in place Running the days delivery reports to generate pick lists and routing details Resolution of distribution issues and implementation of pre-emptive actions Work collaboratively with all internal departments including all back office teams Reporting discrepancies in both stock and process Reporting on warehouse performance

Education & Experience (Knowledge & Skills)



Minimum Maths GCSE, NVQ relevant Management and Logistics Operations or equivalent is desirable minimum of 2-3 years managing a team within a warehouse facility Current FLT and Flexi-truck License Must be proficient in all Microsoft Office applications and use of MRP systems Experience of working within a KPI driven environment and an ability to interpret and analyse data Must have effective verbal and written communication along with excellent interpersonal skills

Desirable



Knowledge and experience of Service Manager Editions & SME applications Knowledge and experience of EFACS scheduler Knowledge of the products in the field that we maintain. Previous experience of Fire Marshall and/or being a First Aider
