We are seeking an experienced and proactive Warehouse Manager to oversee daily operations within our logistics and distribution centre. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing warehouse activities, ensuring efficient materials handling, and maintaining safety standards. Responsibilities
Supervise and coordinate all warehouse activities, including shipping, receiving, inventory management, and order fulfilment.
Oversee materials handling processes ensuring safe and efficient movement of goods using appropriate equipment such as forklifts.
Implement process improvements to optimise workflow, reduce costs, and enhance productivity.
Manage the utilisation and maintenance of warehouse management systems (WMS) and AS400 platforms for accurate stock control.
Lead, train, and develop warehouse staff to ensure high levels of performance and safety compliance.
Coordinate logistics with third-party logistics providers (3PL) to ensure timely deliveries and pickups.
Oversee heavy lifting operations, ensuring adherence to health and safety regulations.
Maintain accurate shipping & receiving records, ensuring compliance with company policies and client requirements.
Utilise mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot equipment issues promptly and efficiently.
Ensure compliance with safety standards, conducting regular safety audits and risk assessments.
Skills
Proven experience in warehouse management or logistics roles with strong knowledge of materials handling procedures.
Proficiency in using warehouse management systems (WMS) and AS400 platforms for inventory control.
Skilled in process optimisation and continuous improvement methodologies.
Ability to operate forklifts safely; relevant certification is desirable.
Strong leadership skills with experience managing teams in a fast-paced environment.
Mechanical aptitude with the ability to perform basic troubleshooting on warehouse equipment.
Knowledge of shipping & receiving procedures, including documentation requirements.
Familiarity with 3PL operations and logistics coordination.
