Overview

We are seeking an experienced Warehouse Manager to oversee daily operations within our logistics and distribution centre. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing warehouse activities, ensuring efficient materials handling, and maintaining high standards of safety and organisation. Responsibilities

Supervise and coordinate all warehouse activities, including shipping, receiving, storage, and inventory management Oversee materials handling processes to optimise efficiency and minimise damage or loss Manage a team of warehouse staff, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations Utilise warehouse management systems (WMS) such as AS400 to track inventory levels and order processing Implement process improvements to enhance operational productivity and safety standards Operate or oversee the operation of forklifts and other heavy machinery safely and effectively Coordinate logistics with third-party logistics providers (3PL) to ensure timely delivery and dispatch of goods Maintain accurate records of stock movements using WMS and other relevant software Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including safe lifting practices involving heavy lifting tasks Manage shipping & receiving schedules, optimise space utilisation, and oversee stock rotation

Skills

Proven experience in warehouse management or logistics roles with a solid understanding of warehouse operations Strong materials handling skills with knowledge of forklift operation and mechanical systems Experience with process optimisation initiatives within warehousing environments Proficiency in warehouse management systems such as AS400 or similar platforms Excellent team management abilities with the capacity to motivate staff and foster a collaborative environment Good organisational skills with attention to detail in inventory control and record keeping Knowledge of logistics procedures, including shipping & receiving protocols and 3PL coordination Mechanical knowledge relevant to warehouse equipment maintenance and troubleshooting Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently as required by operational demands
