Working on site at Middlewich in partnership with our globally recognized customer TATA British Salt, reporting directly to the Shift Manager, the Team Leader is the first line of escalation for warehouse operatives, working to support the wider Wincanton and TATA management teams to ensure an effective warehouse operation.

Motivate and manage a team of warehouse operatives to meet and exceed performance objectives
Effectively manage team resources to achieve and report on KPI's
Create and review performance reports, making recommendations for improvements
Ensure a proactive approach to Health & Safety by leading from the front ensuring team members comply with Health & Safety policies
Support in employee investigations, return to works, welfare meetings and disciplinaries as required
Ensure all Goods In, Putaway, Pick, Goods Out and Stock Integrity processes are performed correctly
Ensure all product is handled correctly to avoid damages
Ensure all staff are fully trained in line with Internal Training requirements
Monitor performance, timekeeping, attendance, overtime and sickness levels of individual colleagues and action as per procedures
Record all relevant data during briefings for follow up processes
Provide a responsive and professional service to customers
Maintain engagement with the team and carrying out 1-2-1's with employees.
Manage and authorise staff leave ensuring full team availability
Deputise for the Shift Managers and other Team Leaders as required

What will you bring?
Previous experience leading or managing a team in a warehouse environment is essential
Proactive, flexible, can-do attitude to resolve issues and challenges
Able to demonstrate attention to detail and an accurate and precise way of working
PC literate and numerate with good communication skills, with a working knowledge of MS Office suite
Demonstrate good team motivation and communication skills
Ability to suggest methods of improvement to be actively involved in continuous improvement implementation
Attention to detail to assume quality checking and quality control
Compliant with manual handling procedures
