This is an exciting opportunity to join a long-standing and thriving food manufacturing business. Bennett Opie Ltd is a family-owned business in Sittingbourne, Kent, manufacturing a range of shelf-stable food products including pickles, home baking goods and cocktail garnishes for retail and food service customers. Due to business successes and growth, the company is looking for a Warehouse Team Leader to join our friendly team.

The Role

As the Warehouse Team Leader at the ODC, you will be responsible for the operations and performance of all warehouse team members and facilities.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

To support the Operations Manager in delivering the daily output targets. Provide training to your team ensuring they are fully trained, competent in their particular duties and understand their responsibilities and objectives. Ensure Company quality standards are maintained at all times. Ensure staff adhere to safe working practices set out from health and safety. Ensure that warehouse operations are being completed in accordance to the BRC global standard. Ensure that warehouse hygiene and housekeeping standards are maintained. Supervising the warehouse department whilst maintaining a hands-on approach. Organising the flow of deliveries. Measure and report the effectiveness of warehousing activities and employees performance. Communicate job expectations and coach employees. Determine staffing levels and assign workload. Identify areas of improvement and establish innovative new or adjust existing work procedures and practices. Assisting with the picking of products. Forklift driving, loading and unloading vehicles as well as moving stock.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

Previous supervisory experience within warehouse and logistics is essential Must demonstrate leadership skills and lead by example Must be approachable and supportive Ideally come from a

food manufacturing

or distribution background Excellent communication - both verbal and written Excellent time management and prioritisation skills Good IT skills required with a knowledge of distribution systems Counterbalance and reach truck experience and license
