Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Refuse Collector to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the efficient collection of refuse and recyclables from residential and commercial properties. This role requires a strong commitment to safety, teamwork, and excellent communication skills. As a Refuse Collector, you will play a vital role in maintaining cleanliness and environmental standards within the community.

Duties

Operate refuse collection vehicles, ensuring safe and efficient driving practices. Collect refuse and recyclables from designated areas, including residential homes and commercial establishments. Communicate effectively with team members and the public to ensure smooth operations. Perform routine inspections and basic maintenance on collection vehicles to ensure they are in good working order. Assist in loading and unloading materials at the warehouse or disposal sites as required. Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies during collection activities. Maintain a clean work environment by keeping the vehicle tidy and reporting any issues promptly.

Qualifications

Previous experience as a van driver or delivery driver is preferred. Familiarity with warehouse operations is advantageous. A valid commercial driving licence is essential for operating refuse collection vehicles. Mechanical knowledge to perform basic vehicle maintenance is desirable. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with colleagues and the public. Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage time efficiently while on duty.
