We are seeking a dedicated Water Hygiene remedial Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the safety and compliance of water systems across various commercial and industrial sites. This role involves performing inspections, maintenance, and remedial works to prevent waterborne health hazards, contributing to a safe environment for clients and their staff. The position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a background in mechanical, plumbing, or related trades who are eager to develop their expertise within water hygiene management.
Duties
Conducting routine inspections of water systems, including tanks, cooling towers, and pipework
Performing disinfection processes such as chlorination and hyperchlorination
Flushing and cleaning of water systems to prevent bacterial growth, including legionella control measures
Installing, repairing, and maintaining plumbing fixtures and associated equipment using hand tools and power tools
Utilising welding skills for minor repairs or modifications where necessary
Assisting with the assembly of equipment and components for water treatment systems
Using carpentry skills to modify or adapt infrastructure as required
Operating commercial vehicles for site visits and ensuring compliance with driving regulations
Maintaining detailed records of all works carried out in accordance with health and safety standards
Ensuring all activities adhere to relevant legislation, health & safety policies, and company procedures
Experience
Proven experience in plumbing, mechanical maintenance, or a similar trade is highly desirable
Skills in welding, carpentry, or assembly work are advantageous
Familiarity with the use of hand tools, power tools, and specialised equipment used in water hygiene tasks
Basic mathematical skills for measurements and calculations related to system specifications
Experience in working with commercial or industrial water systems is preferred but not essential; training will be provided for suitable candidates eager to learn
Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently during site operations
Valid driving licence suitable for operating commercial vehicles is preferred but not mandatory; training can be provided if necessary
