Do you like working outdoors? Do you have a confident and flexible approach? If so, we have a great opportunity within our Sampling Team.

This role will see you travelling across the picturesque Wessex Water region. A company vehicle and all tools needed to carry out the role provided.

Where do you come in?

Everyday Wessex Water schedule and carry out the regulatory sampling programme for the water and sewerage services we provide to 2.5 million people in the south west of England.

In addition, we provide sampling and analytical services to a range of customers including business, local authorities, drinking water providers and environmental consultants.

This multifunctional role within the Sampling Team involves regulatory supply sampling, cryptosporidium sampling and survey work, and offers a great opportunity to learn and develop your career in this exciting and challenging field.

Your main duties will include taking water quality samples from a variety of sources, including rivers, treatment works, reservoirs, and customer properties across your local area, dealing with any complaints in a professional and efficient manner as well as ensuring we comply with industry regulations and providing our customers with a high-quality service.

You will be required to work a rota which involves some weekend working and standby.

The ideal person

You will have a positive and flexible approach to supporting team colleagues and enjoy the challenge of working outdoors and prioritising your own workload, as well as good attention to detail.

Ideally, you will possess A level in English, Maths and Science (or equivalent) as a minimum. You would need to be computer literate with Word and Excel and be comfortable in working with multiple phone applications including Outlook, GIS apps and SharePoint.

A full clean manual driving licence is essential.
