We are looking for a Website Content Specialist with strong expertise in WordPress and WooCommerce to take ownership of the content layer across our client websites. This role is responsible for implementing, optimising, and maintaining content across both new website builds and live environments, ensuring content is accurate, user-friendly, and conversion-focused.
A key part of the role is hands-on optimisation of WooCommerce product and category content, as well as ownership of content within Bookly, ensuring booking journeys are clear, intuitive, and optimised for users.
You will work closely with Project Managers, Designers, and Developers to ensure content is implemented in line with approved designs, functionality, and agreed scope. The role also requires confident use of AI content generation tools, including ChatGPT, to support efficient and high-quality content delivery, alongside a strong working understanding of on-page SEO.
Key Responsibilities
Own and manage website content across WordPress websites, including both new builds and live client sites
Populate, structure, and maintain content in line with approved designs and site architecture
Take ownership of WooCommerce product and category content, ensuring it is well structured, user focused, and optimised for conversion
Implement and manage ongoing content updates and amendments on live and in build websites
Own the content layer within Bookly, including service content, booking flow copy, labels, instructions, and customer facing messaging
Optimise booking journeys through clear, user focused content to improve usability and conversion rates
Carry out on page SEO optimisation, including page titles, meta descriptions, headings, internal linking, schema aware content structure, and image alt text
Use SEO tools such as Yoast and Ahrefs to support content optimisation and ensure best practice implementation
Use AI content generation tools, including ChatGPT, to support content creation, optimisation, and scaling, while maintaining quality and accuracy
Ensure all content is accurately implemented within WordPress and WooCommerce, following agreed structures and standards
Support post launch content updates, fixes, and refinements where required
Collaborate closely with internal teams to ensure content aligns with UX, functionality, and project scope
Identify content gaps, risks, or potential scope creep and flag them appropriately
Skills and Experience
Proven, hands on experience working with WordPress as a core CMS (essential)
Strong experience managing and optimising content within WooCommerce, including product and category content (essential)
Experience owning and optimising website content across multiple sites
Confident use of AI content generation tools, including ChatGPT, as part of a structured content workflow
Strong working understanding of on page SEO, including content structure and optimisation principles
Experience using SEO tools such as Yoast and Ahrefs to support content optimisation
Excellent attention to detail and high standards for content accuracy
Strong written communication skills
Ability to manage multiple content updates and priorities effectively
