Mulberry House Wedding and Event Venue in Ongar, Essex is a family owned and operated events venue. Our Georgian House and stunning woodland gardens host two large event spaces with outside wedding ceremonies and 25 bedrooms.

We are the National 'Wedding Industry Award' for best hotel venue in the UK for 2023/24/25. We pride ourselves on high standards and guest focused hospitality.

We are currently looking for an applicant who can support our Food and Beverage Ops team over the summer season. You need to have a passion for delivering perfect weddings for our couples.

This role is part time (24hrs) and would suit someone who would like to work potentially two long days per week upto a 12 hour day and will be responsible for running weddings. You will be responsible for the food and beverage service and working hand in hand with our Wedding co-ordinator on the day. The shifts tend to start at 13:00 and finish at 01:00.

Job Summary


We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Event Manager to oversee the planning and execution of various events. The ideal candidate will possess excellent time management and organisational skills, with a strong background in hospitality and guest services. This role is crucial for ensuring that our events run smoothly and meet the expectations of our clients and guests.

Duties



Execute weddings and events from conception to completion, ensuring all details are attended to. Lead our front of house team to deliver a smooth service. Be fully aware and prepared to be trained on allergens. Liaising with Head Chef to ensure the smooth running of food service. Responsibility for safe guarding the venue, guests and staff, following the Health and Safety guidelines. Liaise with clients to understand their needs and preferences, providing expert advice on event logistics. Collaborate with vendors, suppliers, and staff to ensure seamless event operations. Oversee on-site event management, ensuring all aspects run according to plan. Ensuring the venue is cleared down at the end of the night. Responsible for handing requirements to the Night Porter. Upsell additional services or products to enhance the guest experience. Provide exceptional guest services throughout the event, addressing any issues that may arise promptly.

Qualifications



Proven experience in event management or a related field within the restaurant or hospitality industry. Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective interaction with clients and team members. Familiarity with fundraising strategies and techniques is advantageous. A proactive approach to problem-solving with a keen eye for detail. Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as required by event schedules. A passion for delivering outstanding guest experiences in a dynamic environment.
