About the role
This role will suit an outgoing, people orientated, confident, friendly and well organised person to proactively develop, host and co-ordinate events at luxury level. As a manager, you will be guestobsessed and ready to solve the changing needs of our clients and comfortable coordinating largescale events.
You will need to have experience in a similar role, ideally within the hospitality industry and have a real passion for delivering an amazing guest experience. Day to day, the role is variable and dynamic, so you must have a flexible approach, be service orientated, strong attention to detail and be able to work with little supervision.
Sales will come naturally to you, with the ability to manage the complete sales cycle with proven experience in converting event leads into confirmed bookings and achieving sales targets in the hospitality or events industry.
Developing and maintaining relationships with our new and existing contact base together with internal stakeholders is crucial, and you must have excellent communication and rapport-building skills.
You will relish a challenge and enjoy being a key player and as an excellent communicator you will also be self-motivated, process-driven, proactive, and enthusiastic, all vital to this role.
Adept with both roles of building sales and hand-on management at events, ideally you will have experience of four years plus in a similar role. Please note that this is not always a 9-5 position and that you will be required to work some evenings and weekends to ensure sales and events opportunities within the venue are maximised.
Responsibilities
Promote and market the business to drive sales and increase revenue, particular focus on the wedding and corporate offering.
Experience managing the complete sales cycle including lead qualification, proposal development, client presentations, and contract negotiation
Proven track record of closing deals and converting event enquiries into confirmed bookings, with demonstrable achievement of sales targets
Plan, coordinate, and staff events, leading a dedicated in-house team, working in collaboration with both marketing and operations team to maximise the guest experience.
Event preparation and delivery - including viewings and ensuring all resources required are planned, available and ready in good time for each event with the wider team undertaking room set ups and post tidy up.
Work with operations in training, coaching, and developing team members.
Accountable for communicating all client specifications to relevant HODs for execution by relevant departments to ensure a successful event experience for the planner and attendees.
Leadership and motivation of the teams within sales and events to ensure they are adequately supported and foster a culture of development in line with company policy.
High attention to detail and a focus on fact-based decision making.
Coordinate with vendors, exhibitors, and stakeholders during event planning.
Assist in developing pricing schedules and rates and formulate sales policies and procedures.
To develop and implement growth opportunities in existing and new markets to create a solid track record of creating long-term value for organisations.
Cultivate and maintain effective business relationships with executive decision makers in key accounts.
Researching market trends, targeting relationships, and using proven methods to develop our business strategy while retaining marketing partners.
Track event key performance areas and identify items to work on for future events.
Essential Criteria
4+ years' experience in event sales, preparation and delivery ideally at luxury level in hospitality
Experience managing the complete sales cycle and converting enquiries into confirmed bookings
Outstanding guest liaison skills and be able to forge strong and professional working relationships with new and repeat guests
Ability to motivate and lead the sales and events team to ensure delivery excellence and high standards of presentation and service levels
Demonstrate sound knowledge of event menus (food and beverage) including allergens
A passion for event management, sales and delivery
Be able to demonstrate organisational skills, interpersonal communication and be able to work on own initiative.
Excellent personal time-management with skills in setting priorities and managing work pressures.
Highly organised, and commercially responsible, able to manage sensitive data confidentially
Excellent administration and communications skills, both written and verbally, with a high level of attention to detail.
Fully proficient in Excel, MS Office and IT
