You will take a leadership role during weekend and evening shifts, ensuring the store operates efficiently, the sales floor and deli run smoothly, and customers receive excellent service. This role is vital in maintaining high operational standards at peak trading times.
Key Responsibilities
Operations & Leadership
Keyholding - you will have responsibility for closing (and occasionally opening) the store
Supervise the shop floor and deli during evening and weekend shifts
Oversee merchandising, plan-o-grams, stock rotation, and maintain store presentation standards
Liaise with day-time management to implement layout changes and promotions
Support opening/closing procedures, including cash handling and security checks
Customer Experience
Deliver excellent customer service, address queries and handle complaints professionally
Lead by example to create a positive, attentive team atmosphere
Team & Training
Lead and motivate weekend/evening staff; assist with onboarding and training new team members
Delegate tasks effectively and help maintain team morale
Compliance & Standards
Enforce health & safety and food hygiene regulations (especially in deli operations)
Monitor waste, freshness, and quality control, supporting product display standards
Ideal Candidate Profile
Easily adaptable to working weekends and evenings; flexible scheduling required
At least 1 year of experience in a customer-facing role, preferably in retail or food service
Strong communication, multi-tasking, and organisational skills
Proven leadership or responsibility in a fast-paced environment
Knowledge of food safety/hygiene standards, especially in deli or food prep environments
