Weekend Care Assistant - Home-Based Support (Saturday & Sunday)

9:00 AM - 9:00 PM (Saturday and Sunday)

Salary:

16 per hour

Contract Type:

Part-time (weekends only, evening shifts also available)



We are currently seeking a

Weekend Care Assistant

to support a client in their own home with complex care needs.

About the Role:

As a Weekend Care Assistant, you will provide dedicated one-to-one support that enhances the client's comfort, communication, and quality of life on Saturdays and Sundays.

S

upport Areas Include:

Communication support

- Assisting the client in using a Communication Aid and interpreting facial expressions, vocalisations, and eye pointing.

PEG feeding and medication

- Observing and reporting any concerns with the feeding site or equipment (no medication administration required).

Seizure monitoring

- Being observant for signs of seizures and responding appropriately.

Mobility assistance

- Supporting a full-time wheelchair user with repositioning and general comfort.

Supporting with physical needs

- Understanding and working with conditions such as a movement disorder, left leg amputation, and neuromuscular scoliosis.

Hearing awareness

- Adjusting communication methods to accommodate moderate hearing loss.

What We're Looking For:

Previous experience in a care role, particularly with PEG feeding and communication support, is highly desirable. Kindness, patience, and a genuine passion for person-centred care. Strong observation and listening skills. Confidence in assisting individuals with limited mobility and complex health conditions.
