Key Responsibilities
As a
Weekend Therapeutic Residential Childcare Support Worker
, you will:
Provide consistent, high-quality emotional and practical care for children and young people
Build trusting relationships that promote wellbeing, independence, and positive outcomes
Support with routines including meals, education, personal care, and recreational activities
Encourage social, emotional and behavioural development through therapeutic approaches
Follow individual care plans, safeguarding protocols and behaviour support strategies
Maintain a structured, nurturing and safe home environment
Record daily observations, incidents and handovers accurately and professionally
Work collaboratively with colleagues, families and professionals to ensure continuity of care
Support children in community settings, promoting inclusion and confidence
What We're Looking For
Essential Requirements
Experience supporting children or young people in
residential childcare, social care or education
Strong communication and relationship-building skills
Emotional resilience, empathy and patience in challenging situations
Good understanding of safeguarding and professional standards
Flexibility to work weekends, evenings and night shifts as required
Team-focused, proactive and caring approach
Desirable Skills and Qualifications
Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent)
First Aid training
Experience supporting young people with complex emotional or behavioural needs
Full UK driving licence
