Job Description

As a Weekend E-commerce & Retail Assistant at the Old Railway Line Garden Centre, you will play an essential role in processing online orders and assisting customers in-store. Your main responsibilities will include efficiently picking, packing, and dispatching orders, as well as working on the tills and providing excellent customer service. Your contribution will help ensure a smooth and enjoyable shopping experience for both our online and in-store customers during busy weekend hours.

Key Responsibilities

Order Fulfilment & Dispatch

Pick, pack, and prepare weekend orders for shipping, ensuring accuracy and care in handling items to prevent damage during transit. Coordinate with courier services for timely weekend pickups, ensuring orders are dispatched promptly and customers receive their purchases on time. Track and manage online orders, ensuring any issues are flagged and resolved quickly to maintain a high standard of service.

Customer Service (In-Store)

Assist customers at the tills, providing friendly and efficient service, handling transactions accurately, and addressing any queries or issues they may have. Support departments across the shop floor by helping customers with product inquiries, helping with stock replenishment, and ensuring a tidy and welcoming shopping environment. Resolve customer queries or concerns, either in-store or regarding their online orders, ensuring a positive shopping experience.

Qualifications and Skills

Strong attention to detail to ensure order accuracy and proper packaging for shipments. Excellent customer service skills, with a friendly and professional approach. Ability to work efficiently in a busy, fast-paced weekend environment. Organised, with the ability to manage multiple tasks independently.

Working Conditions

The role requires lifting and handling parcels of various sizes and weights. Weekend availability is essential, with flexibility required based on business needs. The ability to work both on tills and in a warehouse/stock environment is essential.

Working Hours

Weekend hours: 8:45 am - 5:30 pm (or until tasks are completed). Flexibility in working hours is required depending on business needs
