Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Pub Chef to join our culinary team. Working in a small village public inn, the ideal candidate will have a strong background in food preparation and safety, with experience in a public inn restaurant or hospitality environment. As a Pub Chef you will be ensuring that high standards of food quality and presentation are maintained. You will be required to work weekends.

Duties

Preparation and cooking of meals according to established recipes and standards. Ensure all food is prepared in compliance with food safety regulations and hygiene standards. Supervise kitchen staff during food production to ensure efficient workflow and quality control. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, including equipment and utensils. Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and supplies, ordering as needed. Provide training and guidance to junior kitchen staff, fostering a positive team environment. Participate in daily kitchen operations, including food plating and presentation for service.

Requirements

Proven experience in a pub restaurant or culinary setting is essential. Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques and food safety practices. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced kitchen environment while maintaining attention to detail. Excellent leadership skills with the ability to supervise and motivate a team. Passion for cooking and a desire to learn and grow within the culinary field. Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends as required. A culinary qualification or relevant training is advantageous but not mandatory.
