Snape Maltings Trading Limited (SMTL) is the commercial arm to Britten Pears Arts. All of the profits that we make through sales at Snape Maltings contribute towards supporting our charitable work in Artist Development, our year-round Performance Programme, Music in the Community and Creative Health and our Living Heritage Museum and Archive at The Red House. As well as the support received from SMTL, Britten Pears Arts is also supported though fundraising, public funding, ticket sales and royalties from works by Benjamin Britten and Peter Pears.

This is a newly created role which will support the retail management team over the busiest days of the week. Fridays are all about making sure that the salesfloor is ready for the weekend, and Saturdays and Sundays are all about looking after our customers, providing great service and supporting our retail team. We are looking for someone with strong retail skills, confidence to engage authentically with customers, and who can also act as a furniture sales specialist. We do not work on commission - this all about understanding what customers are looking for, providing them with product information and finally, completing the sales process accurately and efficiently.


Hours of work are 0930 - 1730hrs (Friday and Saturday); 0930 - 1630hrs (Sunday) with flexibility to start earlier/finish later if required. There may be additional hours on other days during peak periods to cover holidays etc.

As a Weekend Retail Supervisor, you can expect to:

Support colleagues and to be able to work in any area of the store. Act as a furniture specialist. Always provide excellent customer service - responding to queries and resolving problems that may arise. Help train colleagues. Be busy! Be part of a brilliant team of people.
