Job Overview:

Rosary Restaurant, located within Fryer's Nurseries Garden Centre, is seeking a reliable and enthusiastic Kitchen Assistant / Cook to join our team on a weekend basis. The role includes preparing and cooking breakfast sandwiches and a range of garden centre standard fare. There is potential for additional hours and overtime during busy periods.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

Preparing and cooking breakfast sandwiches to a high standard Preparing and cooking garden centre cafe-style meals (e.g. light lunches, hot snacks, daily specials) Assisting with food preparation including chopping, portioning, and basic cooking tasks Maintaining high standards of food hygiene and safety in line with HACCP regulations Ensuring all food is prepared, cooked, and presented consistently and to company standards Operating kitchen equipment safely, including fryers, grills, and ovens Keeping the kitchen, food preparation areas, and equipment clean and tidy at all times Washing up and general kitchen cleaning duties as required Monitoring stock levels and reporting shortages to the kitchen supervisor or manager Assisting with deliveries, stock rotation, and correct food storage Working efficiently during busy service periods Supporting other kitchen and front-of-house staff when required Following all health and safety policies and procedures Providing a positive and professional attitude at all times

Ideal Candidate:

Previous kitchen or food preparation experience preferred but not essential Ability to work well as part of a team Good time management and organisational skills Reliable, punctual, and flexible Ability to work under pressure in a busy environment Basic food hygiene knowledge (training can be provided)
