Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Welding Supervisor to oversee our welding operations. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in various welding techniques, including TIG welding, and have a solid understanding of fabrication processes. This role requires effective leadership skills to manage a team of welders while ensuring high-quality standards and safety practices are maintained.

Duties

Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of the welding team, ensuring adherence to project timelines and quality standards. Conduct regular inspections of welding work to ensure compliance with specifications and safety regulations. Provide training and mentorship to team members on welding techniques, safety protocols, and the proper use of hand and power tools. Collaborate with engineering and production teams to develop efficient fabrication processes for sheet metal components. Maintain accurate records of production output, equipment maintenance, and any incidents or safety concerns. Troubleshoot any issues that arise during the welding process, implementing solutions promptly to minimise downtime. Ensure that all welding equipment is properly maintained and calibrated for optimal performance.

Experience

Proven experience in a supervisory role within a welding environment is essential. Proficiency in TIG welding and other welding techniques is required. Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to read technical drawings and specifications. Familiarity with fabrication processes, including sheet metal work, is highly desirable. Competence in using hand tools, power tools, and other equipment related to welding tasks. Basic mathematical skills for measurements and calculations related to assembly tasks.
