Job Purpose:



To ensure the safety, wellbeing, and welfare of customers and staff during nightclub operating hours. The Welfare Officer plays a crucial role in identifying vulnerable individuals, providing support, and working alongside security and medical teams to ensure a safe and inclusive environment.

Key Responsibilities:



Customer Welfare:

Identify and support individuals who are vulnerable due to intoxication, distress, or other personal circumstances. Offer a calm and non-judgmental presence for those in need of assistance. Assist in reuniting lost or separated friends and belongings. Help individuals get home safely, including arranging taxis or liaising with friends/family if necessary. Report and document incidents appropriately, including safeguarding concerns. Work in tandem with security, medical staff, and management to address welfare related incidents. Provide water, a safe space, emotional support as needed. Maintain clear communication with other staff. Ensure welfare areas are stocked, clean, and welcoming. Support implementation of venue policies related to safety and wellbeing.

Requirements:



Essential:



Strong interpersonal and communication skills Calm and empathetic under pressure Ability to handle sensitive situations discreetly Confidence to work in a late-night environment Basic first aid training or willingness to complete training Commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion Aged 18 or over

Working Conditions:



Loud, busy, and fast-paced nightclub environment Late-night including weekends and holidays Periods of standing or walking throughout the venue
