Job Details
We are looking for a passionate and experienced practitioner to support families to maximise their income by benefit take up and budgeting skills and to advocate on their behalf with issues they are unable to resolve alone.
You will be expected to travel throughout Fife to family homes, schools or other community settings, travel expenses will be paid.
Main tasks include:
Providing information, advice and support to vulnerable families
Assisting clients with benefit checks, benefit applications and budgeting support.
Ensuring supported referrals are made to agencies and services who can give additional support to those coping with multiple and complex issues.
Liaising with a wide range of external agencies who are working to deliver welfare support services.
The Person
You will be Educated to SCQF level 5, which includes National 5 or SVQ level 2 or Standard Grades at Credit level or equivalent or National Certificate in Advice and Guidance, Customer Care, Administration, or equivalent area.
You should also understand poverty and the barriers this causes, as well as having knowledge of benefits and support services. Communication skills such as advising and listening are crucial in this role to build a trusting relationship with your client.
A driving licence is essential to this role and the ability to travel throughout Fife.
