We have a great opportunity to join the team at Brett Aggregates as a Loading Shovel Operative based at our Queen Mary Quarry in Staines. In this key operational role, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently loading vehicles with loose aggregate and supplying material to the on-site concrete batching plant. You'll play an important part in maintaining a strong safety culture on site and supporting the ongoing development of the operation. Reporting to the Site Supervisor, you'll also work closely with the Weighbridge Operator to ensure smooth and effective site logistics.
About Your Role
Operate the loading shovel safely and efficiently at all times, in line with company procedures and site rules.
Carry out daily pre-start checks and promptly report any defects or concerns to site management.
Support the safe and effective running of the site by maintaining high standards of housekeeping and operational discipline.
Communicate stock levels and highlight any issues that may impact production or customer service.
Monitor material quality and ensure the consistent supply of aggregates meets operational and customer requirements.
We're Looking For
Proven experience operating a loading shovel is essential; experience within an aggregates or quarrying environment would be an advantage.
A solid understanding of SHEQ principles and a commitment to maintaining high safety and environmental standards
A good standard of education and a willingness to work towards a QCF Level 2 in Mobile Plant Operations (if not already held).
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to manage your own workload, follow instructions from site management and adapt to changing priorities.
Become a key point of contact for all inbound and outbound material sources
A team player who can provide support to both internal and external stakeholders.
