This exciting 8-week paid placement offers a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in the world of BBC Radio 1 Dance. You'll gain hands-on experience working across our shows with our talented team, based in Belfast.
Role Responsibility
You'll work closely with the Radio 1 Dance and Radio 1 production teams, taking part in creative meetings and supporting production before and during shows. You'll get a full view of how a national radio station operates.
You'll be assigned a mentor who will meet with you weekly to support your development and future plans. As we're a 24/7 station, working hours may vary and include evenings or weekends. We'll do our best to accommodate personal circumstances when planning your schedule.
You'll also travel to London for a training week, which we'll arrange for you.

What You Don't Need:
You don't need formal qualifications or previous experience in radio. We're looking for creativity, imagination, and a genuine passion for media and production.
Essential Requirements
  • You must be at the beginning of your career journey (this placement is not for those with previous paid BBC experience).
  • You must have the legal right to work full-time in the UK.
  • You must be 18 or older by the start date.
  • You must be available to work in Belfast for the full 8-week placement.
