WINTER GRITTING OPERATOR SCOTLAND

THE ROLE

We are looking for a motivated, and methodical Winter Gritting Operator to join our Winter Department on a temporary basis as a contractor for the duration of the winter period, from November 2025 to the 1st of April 2026. This position is very well paid for the right person.


The successful candidates responsibilities will include:

Time and type of work:

Duties include night and day driving and manual labour work when required.

Nightly operations:

Conduct salt gritting operations for sites within Scotland, including Edinburgh, Livingston and/or Glasgow.

Maintain salt piles:

Ensure salt piles are covered at all times.

Equipment:

We require contractors with their own 4x4 or Transit vehicle. Salt, equipment, and training will be provided.

ABOUT YOU

To be successful in the role, you are to possess the below knowledge and skills.


Essential:

Possess the required vehicle for the role. Be honest, enthusiastic, and able to undertake physical work and driving duties mainly at night. Possess a full UK driving licence. Be available to work between the hours of (23:00 06:00) Able to conduct heavy physical labour. Be a hard worker and a problem solver. Demonstrate a positive attitude and be able to self-manage. Have access to personal emails on a daily basis Have the right to work in the UK and consent to obtaining a DBS check (reimbursed by the Company).
Desirable:

* Previous skills and knowledge in a similar role may be highly advantageous.
