Chepstow Construction and Maintenance Limited are looking to grow their existing construction team and facilitate the growing secured workload through the recruitment of a suitable candidate to perform the role of Working Foreman.


Any candidates should have experience in the construction and engineering environment with the appropriate qualifications to join the company's developing team. The ideal candidate would be somebody who has previous experience across various disciplines from drainage, streetworks, concrete, utilities etc akin with the multi disciplinary profile of the business. This position will report to the Contracts Manager. This position will predominantly be based within South Wales but there will be a requirement for travel nationally to facilitate workload.

Job Roles / Duties



To undertake all work inline with the companies health and safety policies. Support the business as it strives to eliminate risk within the workplace to establish a 'zero risk' environment. To lead supervision of site works ensuring health and safety is paramount whilst meeting financial processes. Where required to deploy and supervise the companies resources in a safe, timely and profitable manner. To ensure that if required relevant POWRA are in place to supplement the method statements and risk assessments. Following the company procedures for daily safety briefing and ensuring relevant paperwork for plant arrival, dispatch on hire and off hire is in place. To seek to identify cost reduction methods and opportunities within the companies operation and to implement following agreement with senior management. To maintain existing skills or certifications to ensure that they do not expire.

Job Requirements



Proven experience as a working foreman. Suitable supervision accreditation SMSTS or equivalent. Where relevant CPCS accreditation in specific machinery. Where relevant suitable training in a particular field. Experience in operating small hand tools for example disc cutters etc. Knowledge of basic engineering and construction principles and methods.
