Job Description

Position: Site Foreman (Construction)

Hours: 47.5 hours per week (typically Monday-Friday, with some Saturday/Sunday work as required)

Salary: Negotiable

Reports to: Contract Manager

Location: Various construction sites - UK Based.

Role Overview



The Site Foreman will take responsibility for day-to-day site operations, working alongside the team "on the tools" while also supervising trades, labourers, and subcontractors. The role requires balancing hands-on trade skills with leadership, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, to specification, and within quality standards.

Key Responsibilities



Site Supervision & Leadership



Lead by example, working on the tools while supervising site staff and subcontractors. Delegate tasks and monitor performance to ensure productivity and quality standards. Maintain effective communication with the Site/Project Manager regarding progress, issues, and resource needs. Mentor and support apprentices and junior operatives.

Health & Safety



Enforce and maintain compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations. Carry out daily site inspections and ensure safe working practices. Complete toolbox talks and site inductions for new operatives.

Project Delivery



Oversee day-to-day operations to ensure works are completed on schedule. Coordinate materials, plant, and equipment to prevent delays. Identify and report any potential risks, delays, or design issues. Work with the Project Manager to achieve deadlines and client expectations.

Quality Control



Ensure workmanship meets company and industry standards. Carry out snagging inspections and rectify defects promptly. Maintain accurate site records (timesheets, progress reports, delivery notes).

Communication



Act as the main point of contact between operatives, subcontractors, and management. Provide clear instructions and resolve day-to-day site issues. Represent the company professionally with clients, neighbours, and stakeholders.

Skills & Experience Required



Proven experience as a Foreman/Supervisor in the construction industry. Strong trade background (e.g. carpentry, bricklaying, or general building). CSCS card (Gold/Black preferred). SSSTS or SMSTS qualification (desirable). First Aid at Work certificate (desirable). Strong knowledge of health & safety regulations. Ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications. Excellent communication and leadership skills.

Pay: 20.00-22.00 per hour
