The Role
Are you a hands-on leader with a background in welding or fabrication? We're seeking an experienced and driven Workshop and Production Manager to lead and develop our fabrication team, drive operational excellence, and support the continued success of our growing business.
In this role, you'll take ownership of workshop operations, ensuring production targets are met while maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety. This is a high-impact, autonomous position, perfect for someone who thrives on challenge and wants to make a tangible difference in a dynamic engineering environment.
Key Responsibilities
Manage and support a team of skilled welding/fabrication professionals.
Oversee production schedules, workflow planning, and resource allocation.
Monitor team attendance, holiday planning, and training requirements.
Drive continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives.
Maintain and uphold quality standards in line with industry certifications (ISO 9001, AS9100, etc.).
Collaborate closely with senior leadership to report on production performance and strategic goals.
Manage departmental expenditure and contribute to operational planning.
Foster a strong shopfloor culture built on respect, communication, and accountability.
What We're Looking For
Proven leadership experience in a production or workshop management role.
Strong background in welding, fabrication, or metalworking within a manufacturing environment.
Deep understanding of production planning, KPI management, and process improvement.
Experience with quality management systems and standards (e.g. ISO 9001, AS9100, Nuclear, or Automotive).
Strong communication skills to effectively liaise between shopfloor teams and senior management.
