Do you want to be part of a great network of Bosch Car Service garages and get first hand knowledge about our future's technology? Autobar Bosch Car Service in Chester le Street are looking to hire a driven and experienced person to work under the direction of and alongside our General Manager.

This pivotal dual role acts as the central link between the workshop floor and our customers. The successful candidate will ensure the workshop runs efficiently and profitably while providing exceptional front-of-house service, technical advice, and administrative support to our clients.

Key Responsibilities:



Workshop Management & Operations:



Work Allocation:

Efficiently delegate workloads to the team of Vehicle Technicians, ensuring productivity is maximised and deadlines are met.

Workflow Monitoring:

Monitor the progress of all repairs and servicing, managing the workshop's time and resources effectively.

Quality Control:

Conduct quality checks to ensure all work is completed accurately, competently, and in compliance with company, manufacturer, and health and safety standards.

Technical Support:

Provide technical assistance and guidance to technicians, helping to identify solutions to complex challenges.

Parts Management:

Liaise with the parts suppliers to order necessary components and ensure timely delivery to avoid delays.

Workshop Maintenance:

Ensure the workshop is kept clean, tidy, and organised, promoting a safe working environment.

Mentorship:

Assist in the coaching and development of junior staff and apprentices.

Customer Service & Administration:



First Point of Contact:

Greet all customers warmly, both in person and over the phone, managing general inquiries and directing them to the appropriate department.

Booking Management:

Schedule appointments for services, MOTs, and repairs efficiently using our management systems.

Technical Consultation:

Advise customers on minor technical issues, explain complex repairs, and gain authorisation for additional work as required.

Communication:

Keep customers informed of their vehicle's progress, potential delays, and any additional costs, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.

Paperwork & Invoicing:

Manage all administrative tasks, including creating job cards, processing invoices, handling payments, and maintaining accurate customer records.

Qualifications & Skills:



Proven experience in an automotive workshop environment, ideally within a workshop control or senior technician role. A strong technical background and comprehensive knowledge of automotive repair and servicing. Excellent leadership, people management, and motivational skills. Outstanding organisational and time-management abilities, with the capacity to work effectively under pressure. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a professional and friendly demeanour. Proficiency in IT software and workshop management systems (DMS knowledge is a plus). A full, valid UK driving licence is essential.
