Job Overview


We are seeking a skilled Workshop Engineer/Mechanic to join our team at our Plant & Equipment branch. This role involves maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing and servicing of a wide range of plant machinery and tool hire equipment. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical, hydraulic and electrical expertise, with experience in both workshop and on site maintenance. The position will involve the operation of machinery, supporting fellow workers and have a flexible approach to all aspects of the hire industry, and contribute to safety and efficiency within the workshop and on site.

Responsibilities



Perform repairs and carry out routine maintenance, inspections on construction hire equipment, to include Excavators, Telehandlers, Dumper and rollers etc... Troubleshoot electrical systems on low voltage components, utilizing tools such as ammeters and ohmmeters. Repair and maintain hydraulic systems, ensuring proper function of components on all plant, scissor lifts and other lifting equipment. Conduct welding operations, adhering to safety standards.. Support field service activities by diagnosing and repairing issues on-site at customer locations when required. Maintain accurate documentation of repairs, and maintenance procedures and breakdowns. Provide technical support for customer service interactions. Ensure compliance and work within the Health & Safety procedures and policies.

Qualifications



Proven experience in industrial mechanic work within Plant and Tool Hire environment or similar setting. Level 3 Qualification in mechanics would be an advantage Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, hydraulics, and schematics interpretation. Experience with diesel and petrol fuel systems, welding, and on-site service and operations. Excellent problem-solving skills. Strong communication skills and customer service experience is a plus. Job Type: Full-time

Pay: 30,000.00-38,000.00 per year
