T Nevill & Co Ltd is a specialist metal fabrication company delivering high-end architectural and interior metalwork across luxury residential and commercial sectors. With a growing team and a reputation for quality, precision, and creative problem-solving, we are looking to bring in a new leader to help drive forward performance on the workshop floor.
The Role
We're seeking a hands-on Workshop Floor Manager with strong metal fabrication knowledge and a passion for driving standards. The successful candidate will lead our fabrication team of 6-7 people, taking ownership of the workshop's day-to-day performance and helping to embed better systems and habits as we scale.
This is a key leadership role within the company, with a focus on maintaining momentum, tackling fabrication challenges, and ensuring quality standards are met from start to finish.
Key Responsibilities
Lead, motivate and manage the workshop team to deliver projects on time and to spec
Oversee and actively contribute to daily fabrication work where required
Proactively resolve fabrication issues on the shop floor, keeping momentum and avoiding disruption
Ensure quality standards are met through real-time checks and early interventions
Plan and allocate work effectively across the team
Oversee workshop maintenance and ensure tools/machinery are properly maintained
Support the training and development of junior staff, helping raise their standards over time
Travel to site when required to support surveys, installations, or on-site problem-solving
The Ideal Candidate
Background in bespoke metal fabrication - with the confidence to work independently and advise others
Strong leadership skills and the ability to bring a team together
Practical problem solver who thrives under pressure
A methodical planner with a strong grasp of both big-picture priorities and finer project details
Competent in quality control and understands the importance of precision and finish
Positive, supportive and keen to help others develop
Experience with site work such as installations or surveys is highly beneficial
Comfortable in a fast-moving, high-standard environment
Desirable Qualifications
NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Engineering or Fabrication
Experience in working with sheet metal, jig making, CAD, and project planning
