We are looking for an
experienced and skilled Welder/Fabricator/Foreman (or Supervisor)
to join our busy workshop and take a leading role in production.
Main Responsibilities
Lead and organise
the day-to-day operations of the fabrication workshop.
Liaise with management/directors to ensure workloads are prioritised and customer deadlines are met.
Train, mentor, and support less experienced welders/fabricators
, helping them develop skills and maintain high standards.
Ensure quality control
on all projects, from start to finish.
Measure, mark, and cut materials accurately
for welders to follow.
Oversee and take part in the fabrication of:
Modifying and cutting
shipping containers
Fitting
bespoke steel frames
,
doors
, and
parts
Fabricating
bunded chemical trays
Creating
new openings
and
repairs to damaged containers
Folding, cutting, and forming sheet metal
Maintain a safe, tidy, and productive workshop.
Ensure all team members arrive on time, work safely, and follow company procedures.
Skills & Experience Required
Skilled in MIG welding
, particularly on
thin sheet metal
.
Experienced in
plasma cutting
,
guillotine
,
press brake
, and
sheet metal folder
operations (essential).
Ability to
operate a forklift
(training provided if competent and experienced).
Strong
leadership and management skills
with the ability to motivate and supervise a team.
Excellent
communication and people skills
- able to liaise effectively with both staff and management.
Good time management
and ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
Must be a
good role model
, setting an example for others in quality, safety, and attitude.
Full UK Driving Licence
required.
First Aid / Health & Safety qualifications
advantageous (training can be provided).
Additional qualifications such as
Abrasive Wheels, Working at Height (WAH2005), or FLT Licence
beneficial but not essential.
