Job Description

Role Summary

We are seeking an organized, experienced, and highly motivated

Workshop Controller

to lead and manage the day-to-day operations of our busy workshop. Working within a

small, dedicated team

of technicians, you will be the central point of control, ensuring maximum efficiency, high-quality workmanship, and excellent customer service delivery. This role requires a hands-on approach, strong technical understanding, and exceptional leadership and communication skills.

Key Responsibilitie

Workshop Operations & Efficiency

Scheduling and Work Allocation:

Plan, organize, and prioritize the daily workflow and work schedules for all workshop technicians, ensuring optimal utilization of time and resources.

Job Management:

Monitor the progress of all jobs (service, repair, maintenance) to ensure they are completed on time and to the required standard, escalating issues as necessary.

Quality Control:

Implement and oversee quality control checks on completed work before vehicle handover, minimizing rework and ensuring customer satisfaction.

Resource Management:

Manage the ordering, receipt, and allocation of parts and materials, ensuring stock levels are maintained efficiently.
Team Leadership & Management

Supervision:

Provide day-to-day leadership, guidance, and technical support to the workshop team.

Performance:

Monitor technician productivity and efficiency, implementing measures to improve output without compromising quality.

Training & Development:

Identify training needs for team members and support continuous professional development.

Communication:

Act as the primary technical liaison between the service reception/front office staff and the workshop team.
Technical & Compliance

Technical Support:

Assist technicians with complex diagnoses and challenging technical issues as needed.

Health & Safety:

Ensure the workshop operates in strict accordance with all company and legal

Compliance:

Oversee the correct use of diagnostic equipment, ensuring all paperwork, job cards, and documentation are completed accurately and promptly.
Essential Skills & Qualifications

Valid driver's license.
