We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Workshop / Production Manager to oversee our workshop operations, acting as a liaison between the machining and fabricating departments,. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical and welding/fabrication knowledge as well as experience with hand and power tools, ensuring that all manufacturing tasks are completed efficiently and to a high standard. As the Workshop / Production Manager, you will be responsible for managing the workflow, increasing process optmisation, supervising staff, and maintaining a safe and organised working environment within the warehouse.
The ideal candidate will have a background in fabrication and at a team leader or supervisor/management level.
Responsibilities
Oversee daily workshop operations, ensuring efficient workflow and adherence to safety protocols. Workshop operations include welding, fabrication, CNC machining, laser cutting, bending, shot blasting, painting and technical assembly, ensuring the team leaders in each department have the components and tooled necessary to complete the tasks, and foreseeing what their future requirements will be.
Manage a team of workshop staff, providing guidance and support in their tasks.
Ensure that all machinery and tools are maintained in good working order, conducting regular inspections.
Coordinate assembly tasks, ensuring that products are assembled accurately and on time.
Maintain an organised warehouse space, ensuring that materials and products are stored correctly.
Collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth operations and timely delivery of products.
Experience
Proven experience in a workshop or manufacturing environment is essential.
Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience using hand tools and power tools, welding and fabrication tools.
Familiarity with assembly processes and warehouse operations is highly desirable.
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
Strong leadership skills with experience in supervising or managing a team is preferred.
