A full-time position has become available for a Yacht Rigger based in our Swanwick, Southampton branch. The applicant should have a good general knowledge of sailing yachts and dinghies, be self-motivated, be able to manage themselves and a small team of riggers and work as part of a team.

Rate of pay will be dependant on experience.

Duties

Oversee rigging and mast stepping operations

Able to work individually and part of a team

Help plan and execute rigging projects

Perform routine rigging inspections & maintenance

Diagnosing and resolving design and functional issues arising in the course of a project

Able to work away for short periods on bigger projects, sometimes overseas.

Liaise with clients to make sure their rigging needs are met

Communicating with suppliers when necessary

Taking responsibility for the health and safety of yourself and of others who may be affected by your acts or omissions at work

Essential requirements

Experience in yacht rigging and working at height.

Excellent planning, organizational and project management skills

Ability to follow engineering drawing/schematics/BOM's

Practically minded

Good communication skill, both written and spoken

Good presentation and interpersonal skills

Ability to work under pressure

Self-management skills

Take pride in their work and have a professional approach to it

Attention to detail

Able to work to tight tolerances

Ability to meet deadlines and manage your time effectively

Computer literate

Have a full UK driving licence

Strong knowledge of safety protocols and procedures
