Yard Foreman - Formwork & Plant Yard

Location: Barnsley

Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:00am - 5:00pm

Cidon Construction is seeking a proactive and highly organised Yard Foreman to take responsibility for the safe and efficient day-to-day operation of our Formwork and Plant Yard at our Barnsley depot.

Reporting directly to the Plant Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring all plant, formwork systems, and equipment are well maintained, accurately controlled, and ready to support our busy construction sites. Key Responsibilities

Lead and supervise yard operatives to ensure accurate picking, preparation, and loading of vehicles Maintain strict compliance with health and safety standards, fostering a safe working environment and liaising with external auditors where required Deliver toolbox talks and identify training needs within the yard team Plan and oversee daily workloads to ensure smooth and efficient yard operations Ensure all plant and formwork equipment is accurately booked in and out using internal plant management systems Maintain accurate stock control, reporting shortages promptly to minimise disruption Receive, check, record, and store all external deliveries correctly Work closely with the plant office to plan upcoming plant movements, returns, and deliveries Ensure all plant, tools, and formwork equipment are clean, serviceable, and fit for hire Arrange and support annual stock checks

Experience & Skills

Proven experience managing a construction, formwork, or scaffolding yard (

essential

) Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a small team Confident using digital systems for stock control and plant booking Self-motivated, organised, and able to work effectively under pressure A strong commitment to maintaining high standards of safety, accuracy, and efficiency
