Yard Manager

Based in Kearsley, Bolton

Are you highly organised, safety-focused and ready to take ownership of a busy construction yard?

Bethell Group is looking for a

Yard Manager

to oversee the safe, efficient and professional running of our yard, supporting Bethell Construction, Bethell Utilities and Bethell Plant. This is a hands-on, varied role where no two days are the same.

What you'll be doing

As Yard Manager, you'll be responsible for:

Keeping the yard safe, controlled and well-organised at all times Managing deliveries, collections, vehicle access and stock movement Carrying out daily checks on plant and equipment, reporting defects or damage Ensuring compliance with company procedures and Health & Safety requirements Carrying out toolbox talks and daily briefings Supporting sites by recording and communicating available materials and plant Leading and motivating the yard team to meet high standards and pass audits Maintaining plant and vehicles, ensuring they are clean, safe and ready to hire Promoting sustainability by encouraging re-use and recycling of materials

What we're looking for

We'd love to hear from you if you have:

Experience in a yard, plant, or stores-based role (construction background preferred) Knowledge of safe working practices and basic Health & Safety requirements Good organisational, time management and communication skills A proactive, team-oriented and safety-first approach A driving licence (essential) Loadall/FLT qualifications or experience (advantageous, training can be provided) Basic plant maintenance, welding or telematics knowledge (desirable, training can be given)
