Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Yard Manager to oversee our logistics operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing yard activities, ensuring efficient processes, and leading a team to achieve operational excellence. This role requires a strong understanding of supply chain logistics, yard management, and continuous improvement practices.

Duties

Oversee daily yard operations, ensuring efficient flow of materials and products. Manage shipping and receiving processes, maintaining accuracy and timeliness. Supervise yard staff, providing guidance and support to enhance team performance. Implement process improvements to optimise operations and reduce costs. Coordinate with providers to enhance service delivery and efficiency. Maintain compliance with safety regulations and company policies within the yard environment. Foster a culture of continuous improvement by encouraging team input on operational enhancements.

Skills

Proven experience in supervising teams within a yard or logistics environment. Strong knowledge of logistics, supply chain management, and management systems. Excellent problem-solving skills with a focus on process improvement initiatives. Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment. Experience in shipping & receiving processes is essential. Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with team members and external parties. Forklift certification is required; experience operating forklifts is preferred.
