We are now seeking a reliable, hands-on

Yard Operative

to join our Hillsborough-based team and support the daily operations of our busy yard.

The Role:

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare and dispatch orders by pulling, packing, strapping, and wrapping materials. Load and unload stone and goods with or without machinery. Operate telehandlers, stone saws, and hand tools; perform daily equipment checks and carry out basic maintenance. Keep the yard, sheds, and public areas clean and organised, including stock rotation and general upkeep (e.g., grass cutting, pressure washing). Assist customers and support team members; occasionally deliver materials to site. Manage pallets and waste, act as a yard keyholder, and carry out other operational duties as needed.

Requirements:

Previous experience in a yard, construction, or similar physical role preferred. Ability to safely operate machinery and tools (training can be provided). Physically fit and comfortable working outdoors in all weather. Strong attention to detail, safety, and cleanliness. Good communication skills and a proactive, team-focused attitude. A valid driving licence is essential.
Competitive hourly rate, based on experience and qualifications.
