Yard Operative/forklift Driver
Job Description
The primary role of the yard operative is to assist our yard foreman with the day to day running of a busy yard supplying heavy side building materials. You will be responsible for dealing face to face with customers, delivery drivers and maintaining a high standard of customer service.
This role involves:
Use of counter balance and grab fork lift trucks with specialist attachments.
Safe loading of customer vehicles with building materials from detailed picking lists.
Loading our delivery vehicles with customer orders.
Assisting customers with product queries.
Unloading supplier deliveries / checking off goods inwards against relevant paperwork.
Delivery driving when required.
All aspects of stock management to include:
Restocking warehouse/yard
Yard cleanliness
Stock checking
The successful applicant will also be given computer training to enable cover on our trade sales counter during busy periods.
Hours of work: Monday to Friday 7.30am - 4.30pm.
25 days holiday plus bank holidays.
