Role Description

We're looking for a motivated and reliable

Trade Counter & Yard Operative

to join our team at

Lords Builders Merchants in Putney

.

This is a varied, hands-on role combining customer-facing sales responsibilities at the Trade Counter with operational work in our busy yard. You'll play a key part in helping the branch run smoothly--supporting customers, processing orders, loading vehicles, and maintaining a well-organised yard.

It's a great opportunity for someone with experience in a builders' merchant environment who enjoys working with customers and isn't afraid to roll up their sleeves.

Responsibilities:

Serve and support trade and retail customers Process orders and quotations with accuracy and care Assist with stock enquiries and product advice Maintain product displays and stock levels Safely load and unload deliveries for customers and suppliers Pick loads and ensure accurate stock rotation Maintain a clean, tidy, and well-organised yard Carry out daily plant and forklift checks, reporting defects and safety concerns

Hours: 7am-5pm Mon-Fri, 8am-12pm alternate Saturdays

Holiday: 21 days per year plus Bank Holidays

Salary: 31,000 per annum

Requirements

Valid

counterbalance forklift licence

At least

2 years' experience

in a similar role, ideally within a builders' merchant Strong communication skills and a proactive approach Good attention to detail and a strong sense of responsibility A customer-focused attitude and team player mentality Physically fit and comfortable with manual handling Eligible to work in the UK

Pay: 31,000.00 per year
