Job Description
Witham Specialist Vehicles Ltd is seeking a dependable and proactive Yard Person to join our busy operation handling specialist and commercial vehicles. This role involves working across the yard, workshop, and loading areas to ensure smooth and safe vehicle movement and preparation.
Key Responsibilities:
Safely load and unload vehicles and equipment onto low loaders, curtain siders, and other transporters Move, park, and organise vehicles around the yard Operate a forklift (valid licence required) Carry out basic mechanical checks and tasks Jump-start vehicles and support light diagnostics where required Valet vehicles and prepare them for sale or dispatch Steam clean vehicles, equipment, and engine bays Maintain yard cleanliness, organisation, and safety Assist workshop and logistics teams as needed
Requirements:
Valid forklift licence Strong mechanical knowledge Confidence in loading/unloading vehicles and equipment Experience with jump-starting and moving various vehicle types Ability to use steam cleaners and valeting equipment Strong work ethic and ability to work outdoors in all weather Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team Full UK driving licence (advantage for van/LGV/ HGV experience)
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: 12.54-14.51 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
