Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and hardworking Yard Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining the efficiency of our operations by ensuring that materials are handled correctly and safely. This position involves various tasks related to loading and unloading, as well as managing the yard area effectively.

Responsibilities

Load and unload materials from lorries and containers, ensuring proper handling techniques are used.

Manage the yard area, keeping it organised and free of hazards.

Handle materials safely, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. Participate in shipping and receiving processes, verifying incoming and outgoing shipments. Operate forklifts and other machinery safely, adhering to operational guidelines. Perform heavy lifting tasks as needed, ensuring proper techniques are employed to avoid injury.

Skills

Experience in materials handling within a warehouse environment is advantageous.

Ability to operate forklifts safely; relevant certifications are a plus.

Excellent physical fitness to perform heavy lifting and stand for extended periods. Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety practices in the workplace. Good communication skills to work effectively within a team environment.
