With the implementation of the Wellbeing of Future Generations Act (2015), the views of children and young people are a priority for local services in ensuring any change now and in the future is reflective of the needs of our future generation. In Bridgend, we are committed to ensuring that young people are included in the decision-making process in order to allow them to feel empowered in any decisions and changes, therefore providing them with a platform to becoming active citizens within their communities.
In addition, all children and young people (0-18) are entitled to and should be aware of their rights within the United Nations Conventions on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC) and it is our duty to ensure that through a strong and consistent partnership approach, children and young people are aware of their rights and therefore increase their participation in the process of positive change. We are seeking dynamic individuals who can increase the participation of children and young people, thus leading them through this positive process.
