Overview


We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic qualified Youth worker (NVQ level 2 and higher) to join our organisation. The ideal candidate will be responsible for engaging with children and young people, fostering a safe and supportive environment, and leading activities that promote personal development. Duties



Work with young people aged 6-11 and 12-16 in open access universal settings. Plan, organise, and lead engaging activities tailored to children and young people's interests and developmental needs Engage children during programme sessions, ensuring their safety at all times Foster a welcoming environment that encourages participation and confidence among young attendees Communicate effectively with children, parents, and team members to ensure smooth programme delivery Maintain organised records of attendance and activities Assist with organising special events or outings Uphold organisational policies regarding child safeguarding and behaviour management Collaborate with colleagues to develop new programmes that support the organisation's mission

Experience



Previous experience working with children and young people in Youth and Play work settings highly desirable leadership experience, particularly in youth or community programmes Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written Experience with organising activities or programmes for children and young people Valid driving licence is preferred to facilitate outings or transportation needs Familiarity with child safeguarding policies and procedures is advantageous

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: 21,185.00 per year

Expected hours: 28 per week
