Enable is one of Scotland's leading charities, consisting of three pillars - enable cares, enable works and enable communities.



Across the group, we deliver community projects and campaigns, self-directed health and social care support and employability and training for people throughout Scotland.



Enable Communities have launched a new Community Youth Project for children and young people with learning disabilities. Delivered in 8 areas of Scotland, we will be designing and delivering weekly groups for young people aged 8-12, 13-15 and 16-18 years of age, supported by Youth Coordinators. The aim of these groups is to get young people who have a learning disability out of the house, building new and sustainable friendships while growing their confidence and developing skills.



Groups will also give the young people time away from siblings and other family members, while building their own independence and self-esteem. Young people will take part in fun and challenging group activities that allow them to develop their social network, communication skills, motivation and confidence while reducing social isolation and supporting with coping strategies for when they are experiencing mental health challenges.



Primary Responsibilities:





1. To establish and initiate ENABLE Scotland's youth programme regionally - including establishing relationships with local stakeholders, marketing the programme and developing networks to encourage young people to participate.



2. To deliver sessions each week for 8-12 yr olds, 13-15 yr olds and 16-18 yr olds as well as regular weekend activities.



3. To deliver an inclusive curriculum that is fun, engaging and supports young people with additional support needs. Through the development of independent travel skills as well as social networks, personal confidence and community participation.



4. To engage parent volunteers in the programme, supporting them to undertake appropriate vetting and ensuring they comply with ENABLE Scotland volunteer policy and practice.



5. To partner and plan activities for young people in their local communities, allowing them to develop their skills and improve their Mental and Physical health.



6. To support young people individually to use ENABLE Scotland travel training app and develop independent travel skills.



7. To engage young people as well as local stakeholders in local campaigns.



8. To ensure all delivery meets regulatory and compliance standards, including Health and Safety and Child Protection



9. Any other duties as may be reasonably requested in order to deliver the programme.
