We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Youth Coordinator to empower young people aged 16-25 to thrive and make positive life choices by facilitating meaningful engagement, delivering diversionary activities and coordinating workshops focused on business, employment, improving mental health and wellbeing.
Responsibilities
Develop and deliver engaging programmes based around hospitality, catering, music and DJing that offer alternatives to youth violence and anti-social behaviour.
Organise workshops, events, and activities that promote personal growth, teamwork, and leadership skills
Build strong relationships with young people, acting as a mentor and role model
Collaborate with local partners and businesses, community organisations, and families to support youth development initiatives
Monitor programme participation and provide feedback to improve engagement strategies
Coordinate sessions on CV writing, entrepreneurship, food hygiene and hospitality
Maintain accurate records of attendance, programme outcomes, and relevant documentation
Organise wellbeing sessions, peer support groups and resilience-building workshops
Promote inclusivity and positive behaviour within all programme settings
Look at the sustainability of the project through sourcing alternate funding and partnerships
Skills
Proven experience in mentoring young people
Strong understanding of youth work principles and practices
Experience working with young people, including those with special educational needs
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to plan engaging activities effectively
Compassionate communicator with the ability to build rapport with diverse groups of young people
Understanding of safeguarding procedures, awareness of mental health and wellbeing challenges affecting young people
Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Desirable
Youth work qualification level 2 or above
