We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Youth Worker to join our Juniors & Girls group. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting and mentoring young individuals, helping them to develop essential life skills and achieve their personal goals.
This role consists of 4 hours of mandatory delivery every Friday.
Juniors 8 -11 years old: 3:30pm - 5:30pm
Girls club 12 - 16 years old: 5:45pm - 7:45pm
Option to work on Monday 3:30pm - 5:30pm Homework club for 8-11 years.
Responsibilities
Provide direct support and mentoring to young people, encouraging their personal and social development.
Educate youth on various topics including life skills, health, and well-being.
Develop and implement engaging programmes tailored to the needs of individual youths or groups.
Collaborate with parents, educators, and other professionals to create a supportive network for the youth.
Maintain accurate records of interactions and progress for each young person under your care.
Facilitate workshops and activities that promote teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Advocate for the needs of young people within the community and assist them in accessing necessary resources.
Skills
Strong background in youth work with a passion for mentoring young individuals.
Experience working with children, particularly those with special educational needs or challenges.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, enabling effective interaction with youths and their families.
Ability to educate and inspire young people through creative approaches.
Patience, empathy, and understanding towards the challenges faced by youths today.
Strong organisational skills to manage multiple tasks effectively while maintaining attention to detail.
Requirements
Enhanced DBS check.
Two references.
Previous experience in working with young people.
Ability to work collaboratively with a team as well as independently.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
A genuine passion for working with young people and helping them achieve their goals.
