About the Role
Grow Your Potential is recruiting
dedicated, energetic, and adaptable Youth Work Practitioners
to deliver a
high-quality Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) programme
for children and young people aged
7-16 years
.
This is a
multi-disciplinary youth work role
, requiring practitioners to deliver a
variety of engaging activities
that may include physical activity, creative sessions, group work, team challenges, wellbeing activities, and informal youth work.
We are looking for individuals who are genuinely passionate about delivering
exceptional experiences
for young people in Luton who need it most. This role is
hands-on, active, and responsibility-led
and is not suitable for applicants seeking light-touch or supervisory-only work.
Key Responsibilities
Youth Work & Activity Delivery
Deliver a
range of engaging, structured activities
for children and young people aged 7-16
Activities may include:
Team games and physical activities
Creative and expressive sessions
Confidence-building and group challenges
Wellbeing, social skills, and life-skills activities
Actively engage young people throughout sessions and maintain high expectations for behaviour and participation
Adapt activities to meet varying needs, abilities, and interests
Ensure all sessions are delivered to a
consistently high professional standard
Engagement & Relationship Building
Build positive, professional relationships with young people
Act as a strong role model, promoting respect, inclusion, and positive choices
Support emotional regulation, teamwork, and peer relationships
Be actively involved during all sessions, transitions, and breaks
Safeguarding & Welfare (Essential)
Maintain a strong understanding of
safeguarding and child protection
Follow Grow Your Potential safeguarding policies and procedures at all times
Maintain professional boundaries
Respond appropriately to concerns or disclosures and report immediately to the DSL
Conduct dynamic risk assessments to ensure young people's safety
Professional Standards & Team Working
Work collaboratively with project leads, staff, and volunteers
Support attendance monitoring and registers
Prepare resources and spaces as required
Uphold Grow Your Potential values and expectations
Deliver provision that meets
HAF funding, quality, and inspection standards
Essential Criteria
Experience working with
children and young people aged 7-16
Ability to deliver a
variety of engaging youth activities
Strong behaviour management and engagement skills
Good knowledge of
safeguarding and child protection
Reliable, professional, and committed to high standards
Ability to work in a fast-paced, active environment
Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one)
Desirable Criteria
Youth work, education, or playwork qualification
Experience delivering
HAF programmes
Experience working with children with additional needs
Experience in sports, arts, wellbeing, or group facilitation
