We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Property Accountant to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing financial records related to property management, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting, and maintaining compliance with relevant regulations. This role requires proficiency in various accounting software and a strong understanding of financial management principles. The Property Accountant will also play a key role in mentoring junior staff and contributing to the overall efficiency of the finance department.
Responsibilities
Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements and reports for property portfolios.
Oversee accounts payable processes, ensuring timely payments and accurate record-keeping.
Manage financial accounting tasks, including reconciliations and journal entries.
Utilise accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks, Sage, or PeopleSoft for efficient financial management.
Conduct regular audits of financial records to ensure compliance with company policies and regulations.
Mentor junior accounting staff, providing guidance on best practices in property accounting.
Collaborate with other departments to support financial services and operational needs.
Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts for property management activities.
Experience
Proven experience in property accounting or a similar financial role is essential.
Strong knowledge of accounts payable processes and financial management principles.
Proficiency in accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks, Sage, or is highly desirable.
Experience in mentoring or training team members is an advantage.
Excellent analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential for effective collaboration across departments.
