Role Description
Working within the finance department of a public listed company reporting to the Financial Controller, the role encompasses management of accounting information and preparation of accounts to fixed reporting deadlines. This is a busy role for an experienced accountant working as part of a small team.
Summary Terms
35 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
45,000 pa.
Office based working.
25 days (175 hours) holiday plus bank holidays.

Key Tasks
Preparation of quarterly subsidiary and consolidated management accounts
Accounting for property - including lease accounting, valuation and transactions
Accounts disclosures for subsidiary, interim and group annual accounts
Assist in year-end statutory reporting process and liaise with auditors and tax consultants
Preparation and interpretation of key performance indicators
Balance sheet reconciliation and management of system controls and governance
VAT accounting and monthly return submissions
Maintain fixed asset register and chart of accounts
Provision of budget and forecast information to assist with formulating the annual strategic corporate plan
Evaluating and monitoring financial information systems and recommending improvements where needed
Communicating and interpreting financial information to non-financial managers
Any other duties, ad hoc reports and projects deemed appropriate for the role
Experience, Skills and Qualifications
Experienced accountant: Accounting / Finance degree plus professional qualifications, full / part qualified ICAEW/ACCA/CIMA.
Minimum 5 years in similar role and demonstrable ability.
Advance Excel spreadsheets knowledge and strong numeracy and attention to detail. Competent ability using Microsoft Outlook and Word.
Experience using SAGE accounting software to an advanced level would be an advantage.
Experience of accounting for property assets would be an advantage.
Team player and good communicator with colleagues and managers.
